Multi-functional bag for market, beach or anywhere casual. Variegated stripes and a changing texture play add visual fun while knitting and using this quick project.

Pattern Notes 

The bag is started from the bottom with a provisional cast on and worked flat. Stitches are then picked up for the sides and the bag is worked in the round. The garter rib pattern transitions to a vertical eyelet stitch, then back to the garter rib for a top border. The top of the bag is bound off in an I-cord edging. The I-cord edged strap is worked flat from one side and stitched to the live strap stitches on the other side.

2 skeins, Urth Uneek Cotton, shown in colorway 1080

Dimensions

16”/40.6cm high by 14”/35.6cm wide unblocked. Strap length 24”/61cm by 2.75”/7cm wide.

Needles

US6/4mm circular needles, stitch markers as needed. US6/4mm DPNs may be used for the strap.
